I, too, bought the Jackson about 6 years ago. The clincher was.....
There are two Japanese plants in town here. Knowing they are
sticklers for " motion-time study" , when they both came in and purchased
ten auto's , I felt a test run was in order. Six years ago, they
were pretty new. I'm on my second one. First was w/o batteries, and died.
Second was adjustable, both have large screen.
Auto's really shine in stick & tig welding, knowing where you are
going to strike the arc. Welding quality greatly improved with auto.
BUT......don't drop them.
You can get replacement auto screens for old helments for less than $100,
If you have to give them a try. $10 / mo. for better welds??
