Mark,
The major differences between the cheaper and more expensive helmets are the
delay time it takes for the glass to change. The range of filtration and how
adjustable it is . If your helmet has a slow reaction time blink your eyes
shut as you strike the arc so you don't get flash burn while the lens is
changing.
