Question...

   When you pour such a mold, composition not withstanding, do you
make a spot on the mold to pour on?  I mean, doesn't the metal erode
the mold where it is poured?   How is that compensated for?

Are you talking about pouring hot metal into a mold made of dry cement
mix and motor oil?  Are you sure about this?  I would be concerned
that the non-refractory cement, which is a carbonate, would release
CO2 gas when hit with hot metal.
