At the historic site where I work we have a Centaur Forge Vulcan fire pot
installed in a brick forge. It is used daily for 6mos of the year, and not
just so the folks can see a fire in it either. it was installed 10 years
ago and is still in great shape.

The Vulcan is square/rectangular. My personal forge has a round farriers
firepot. No, I'm not a farrier. I just like the round pot ... it's simply
a personal preference.

If you are really worried about it burning out, get one rated for coke as
they are thicker.

Laurel Machine and Foundry supposedly has very good firepots also. I'm not
sure if they have a web site or not, and I don't have their address.
