[TheForge] preheating forge blower air

Does anyone out there have any experience with
preheating the forge blower air?

Does it help the fire or make something worse?

Are there any dangers? i.e. can you get explosions or
flashes.

I am thinking of making a firepot that circulates the
air by the pot before it goes up into the fire. This
would preheat it and keep the firepot a little cooler.
