[TheForge] farrier question

Rounding hammers are intended to help shape the horse shoe over the horn or
"round them".

My brother loves to use the convex face when making leaves...the domed face
helps with drawing the metal. He uses a glancing blow to draw out the sides
of the leaf from round stock. Ball pien would also work....Peter just
prefers the rounding hammer.

Subject: [TheForge] farrier question

hello;

what is the intended purpose of a rounding hammer?

i was at farm&fleet yesterday looking for one and the
only one they had was a jim poor rounding hammer for
$59.95 usd. i did not purchase it. centaur forge sells
rounding hammers for $15.00 to $20.00 usd less.

the reason i would like one is to pein the petal disks
for forged roses.
