Ray, Forge/offset the pins so the center of gravity is lined up, or
out at the bottom and to the front a tad(also at bottom) to make the swing
arm of the crane stay in place or wander towards the back of the hearth
area(less desireable).
Hope your close to the job as it would take a couple trial and
errors to get it right. A torch and rugged vice on site may help to tweak it
for measures then go clean it up at the shop. Getting the verticle shank
plumb usually yields the best results with weight, as if you shoot too far
with an offset pin or pintle reciever, you'll end up with the hot item
moving faster when it clears center coming out - try plumb first.
