Andy;

   15 years ago, I "bit the bullet" and put good money down on a Skill
brand  worm drive circular saw, common 7�" size, most serious
contractors use  these or something similar. This thing has had every
imaginable blade in it and been used and even abused without missing a
beat.  I'd highly recommend to anyone wanting to buy, "the last
circular saw of their lives", look into it. Skill was the first to
come up with the worm drive configuration and has maintained a good
saw in this design.  ONE note...they aren't light, it is a heavy saw,
I never had a problem with this, some do.  I was taught to use the
weight to make the cut and just guide the saw, "down through the
work".  I can get more descriptive of the method if you like.

   For my money, I'd rather put up the price once and use the same
tool forever...
