Tell me more about this mod.
I started to build a Krause/Nazel type air hammer. I was to the point where
I hyad the frame, hammer slide, hammer cylinder, power cylinder, crank and
motor in place. I had a 2 HP 3 PH motor powered with a variable frequency
drive. With an 88# hammer weight, 2 HP was not enough to work. As soon as I
connected the pump to the hammer cylinder it stalled the motor. It would
need at least 5HP and I didn't have that much power available at the forge.
So I bought the valves and a long air hose and converted it to a Kinyon
style hammer. I could use a little better control but what I have works
pretty good.
