[TheForge] Internet Question

There have been "free" Internet access offers in the past, though usually
accompanied by advertising that was even more annoying then AOL's. Yahoo
offers free e-mail but their dial-up service is $21.95 (though you do get the
first month free). All the free access offers that I know of eventually
folded, this is pretty much a case of you get what you pay for.
Although there are cheaper services (a quick search turned up one for $7.95)
you should consider the time you'll spend reconfiguring and fooling with
settings. Also AOL is pretty easy to use and does provide you with some
protection from common viruses (does not use Outlook, fer instance) while the
cheaper services, even if they don't go broke and disappear, may not.
If you enjoy fooling with your computer then you could defiantly save some
money here, even if you have to change services (and e-mail addresses) once
and a while. If you don't, then I'd advise you to stick with AOL.
