The only other forge-type list I subscribe to is the stonecarvers list.   
Blacksmithing, in reference to toolmaking, comes up not infrequently.  Best 
place to start would be the archives,  http://www.learningstone.net/conversa/

Speaking of which, anyone here know a blacksmith in the midlands of England, 
specifically Lincoln, or York?  There's a carver there looking for one.
