But the typical use was/is to roll wire rings for wired edges.  Just
about the only thing I didn't get when I hit the deal of a lifetime on
sheet metal gear was wide slip rolls but I got a little 18" set.  I've
made wired edges on containers using 1/8" welding rod.   Works great
and it's easier than appears once you get the knack.
