I bought a small quantity of H13 from Crucible not too long ago. They
charged $3.50/lb. They sent me the wrong size. (What the @#$%! do I do
with a 2" sq bar of tool steel and no power hammer?) And the order was
short. It took four phone calls and some yelling to get them to send me a
makeup order. It may be that they were not really set up for small
orders but they took my money (about twice the going rate for H13) and
made a deal. I wont shop there again.

I get my H13 and S7 from Carpenter (www.carpenterdirect.com) the round
stock goes for about $1.50/lb no minimum.

I did talk to Burgon Steel (sp?) but they only had precision ground decarb
free for very high prices.

PS When I make a tool with H13, I use tool steel just for the tip which
is arc welded onto a mild steel body. This is much more economical and
also kinder to my hammer.
