I dunno. In their defense, I'm on a dozen Yahoo lists, and a few more on 
Topica with this AOL address (which is also my family/friends address, and 
the only address of mine that gets any spam regularly). With all that, I 
average fewer than 3 spam messages a day, all of it very forged (obligatory 
BS content ;->), and none of it through any of the lists, or even reliably 
connected to the listservers. I turned off all the new Yahoo marketing crap 
as soon as it was announced, before it went live. I'm very careful about 
denying permission to share my information, and I complain religiously to 
responsible ISPs. Perhaps the problems everyone's mentioning have something 
to do with private vs. public (accessible through the directory, and/or 
archives viewable by non-members) lists, which can be configured by the list 
owner? All mine are private. Just a thought...
