1. Sell them for the same price? No, I wouldn't.
2. How to explain the difference?
I'd say "This one was made with mild steel in a propane forge, and I arc welded
the pan.
This other one I made with the same type of material and using the exact same
methods as was done in the 18th century.
That's what makes this one different from that one."
3. Would the customer give a rat's ass?
Some would I am sure.
I would ask the customer "Do you give a rat's ass about the difference?"
If the answer is "Yes", then I'd ask them which they want to buy.
If the answer is "No", then I'd ask them which they want to buy.

ok lets take this one step further. lets say you make a 18th cen. courting
candle 1 you use mild steel , propane forge, arc weld the pan. On the second
for some reason you dig out the coal forge and wrought Iron and make it
using only the tools of the 18th cen. when done they look exactly the
same. Now you put them on the table and in walks a customer.
1) do you sell them for the same price?
2) if not how do you explain the difference? (they are both repos)
3) do you think that the customer could give a rats ass?
