I would be interested in that source too. I have had to change my food
production machinery to use electric elements because I could no
longer get hardwood charcoal. Everything I've been able to find has
coal dust in it or is just plain compressed coal dust.
Coal makes a lousy flavor in food. The only source of hardwood
charcoal I've found, (and I haven't looked in about 9 months) was
HastyBake in St Louis. They make it available for their grills, but
it is NOT cheap.
So.. if anyone knows...
