[TheForge] Stupid comments (and my apologies)

Bit stereotypic? Perhaps. More likely its a result of a very skewed sample.
I didn't create the mold. They just happen to fit it.

I did say "most" and I also said I was referring to those I know.
I didn't say all, I didn't include anyone not liberal, nor did I include in
that statement anyone I don't know.
Perhaps it's no more complicated than the fact that those do fit in that
category are the only ones who tout themselves as liberals.
I'm not interested enough in the subject to be conducting a scientific survey
to determine percentages, etc.

Are the ones I know a representative sample of the population?
Of course not. Neither I, nor anyone else, has represented it as such.

For all I know, most of the conservatives you know ARE homophobes.
I can't say, since I doubt I know the same conservatives you know.
As far as I'm concerned, you can feel free to make that statement if you think
it's true.
I'm not in a position to question it, much less dispute it.

Bob

bit stereotypic here, no?...'most of the liberals' ...really. Exactly what
percentage,
what were the error characteristics in the survey, etc... It would be
equivalent
to me saying 'most conservatives I know are homophobes and support gay
bashing' -- not tooo likely to be true in general, and probably far off in
particular -
so it's not worth saying.
