Depends on what you're doing, and how much arm strength you've got. If you
want to move a lot of metal, you want a bigger hammer. If you want precision
movement, you want one light enough to control more easily. My preference
for most jobs is a 22 oz turning hammer, although I've used a bunch all over
the weight and shape scale.
