[TheForge] Stupid comments

Most of the liberals I know DO judge a book by its cover, and if you don't
agree with them, they judge you to be an ultra-right-wing (insulting adjective
inserted here) conservative. I didn't hear about the unusual conditions in NJ,
but I did hear about the polls being kept open (illegally) in certain heavily
Democratic precincts in Missouri.
Gore never won the election, he gathered more votes from a few very heavily
populated areas in the country.
There is no such thing as the "popular vote" election. The popular vote is
nothing more than an interesting statistic.
That's almost as bad as calling pro-abortion "pro-choice".
One look at the distribution of the vote in California will show just how
lopsided things were (are).
Were it not for the Electoral College, it's virtually guaranteed most regions
of the country would have things dictated to them by a few select urban areas.

'Course, being of liberal bent (meaning, I don't judge a book by its cover,
like so many folks out there do) I tend to see things a bit differently.
Remember that on popular vote, Gore WON the election. It's only because of the
way things are counted up that he lost.

Meanwhile, don't start throwing the "dead vote" at me. The transgressions I
see have more to do with off-duty white police officers guarding the polls from
blacks in the urban NJ area, this in the year the democratic gubinatorial
candidate lost by 2% of the vote. A lot of people were defranchized in the
last presidential election too. Guess who. Why don't we just bring back poll
tax and be "honest" about it?

Meanwhile, you can rely on the fact that we have the best politicians in
Washington that Oil money can buy.

You know the definition of an honest Texas politician, don't you: Once bought
he stays bought!
