The hammer hasz a big gear but it doesn't rate as much of a fly wheel
relative to the oomph needed to run the hammer's internal compressor.
On the other hand, the Acadia Gas 10HP single-banger has two massive
flywheels.

Many of these engines were sold in Nova Scotia to the Canadian
Gummint. They were installed in shacks at government wharfs, attached
by chain drive to a winch and were used by fishermen to haul their
boats up the skidway for caulking or other hull repairs. Many of
these engines have been junked, stolen or just disassembled and thrown
into the weeds after it became easier to haul smaller boats with a
pickup and after the typical boat became too big to manage on a simple
skidway. Mine isn't one of those because it has an ex works pulley.
The Government ones came with a big ol' sprocket.
