Here's the simple rule of thumb that has very few exceptions:

	UNIX == GOOD
M$ == Worst of the worst, and worse than that yet.

Anyone that thinks a Micro$haft "OS" can in any way compete
with *NIX for reliability and efficiency needs to get a clue.
I've been in the SW biz a fairly long time and have worked
with it all, and M$ is not fit for business use. It's not
even close. ANy business that chooses M$ does so at their
own risk. I've managed $50M projects and have categorically
acted against M$ at every opportunity. Would you buy a .45
made of pot metal? That's about what it is to buy M$ products.
That so many people have made M$ the largest corporate entity
in the known world is testimony to laziness and/or ignorance.
I'd love to put a M$ gas stove in every home that runs their
software. 50% of America would burn to the ground during
	installation.

Have you ever seen a M$ product used in realtime machine or
process control? There's a reason you haven't. Nobody with
the smarts of a boiled rutabaga would risk the sort of exposure
such a practice would entail. Could you imagine building flight
control sowftware using their products? I bet you'd never get
such code out of integration test. Hell, you'd probably give
up in unit testing. M$ is pure doodoo, and that's about the best
thing I can say about it. However, I will hand it to Bill for
having parlayed his ninth-rate garbage into the market leader.
God indeed exists and God's sense of humor can indeed have quite
the perverse twist at times. Case in point. :)

Phew... I feel better now. Thanks.

As every Linux user knows it isn't 100% ready for everyone who uses a computer but dog gone it it is STABLE and fast! As the movement graows so will us pengiheads.
