The difference between artist and
craftsman? For me that is an easy one. I
am a craftsman. My older son has it in
him to be an artist. If you give me a
piece to make I have the skills to make
it or I do not. If it is within my
competency I can and will do a good job.
My son? Well, give him a piece of scrap
and no direction whatsoever , and he
will see something there and attempt to
conform the material to his will.
Technically I am superior. In terms of
imagination he has the upper hand. He
also writes and likes to read poetry, I
am prose myself.

Creation is the key, not fabrication. 
Art does not need to be good to be art.
