Now I wrote that from memory, and have an old memory, I'll check and tonite.

Flux will still eat castable. I use a layer of kitty litter 100% clay not the scented kind to soak up and trap the flux. rake it out next time you fire up.   I have a Don Fogg style vertical forge in the works for welding only.
