Just posted a picture of my first (and so far only) rose. Rose is made
without cut petal patterns. Inner 4 petals are two pieces of 1/8" by 1"
flat stock 3" long. Outer petals are two pieces of 1/8" plate 3" square.
Cut into center of each side about 1". Forge petals to thin edges and
shape. For square pieces had to work diagonal petals, folding other two
up out of the way. When done the four petals overlap. Forge welded inner
2 petals to 1/4" stem then added other petals on stem using the "square peg
in round hole" method to hold them on. Finally used a short length of 1/2"
thin wall pipe to form base of rose. Slid over stem and forge welded in place
to secure the petals.
