You are right, but I do like to try things. Every time I build a forge I like to make little changes and see if it helps. Bottom line, I build a forge but can't seem to get a welding heat, meantime my eleven year old is using the same forge and welds up some wiener forks. Still scratching my head.

Yes but have a neat system where the door falls away when you move the door then clamps shut. Hard to explain. I have made swirl,recuperative, and Ron Riel style forges the all seem to work. Pipe forges are easy to build, the recuperative was a pain. I have some small changes to the RR burner and find it can be souped up a bit. I also like insulation and ITC 100. I would like to build a forge similar to the mother mainly for size. I have being working larger pieces and need to get the whole thing hot. Haven't yet seen a commeral forge/furnace that I like as well.
