A quick search using google gives the following results:

24,500 hits on: pattern welded steel  
of these 949 included: damascus

31,500 hits on: damascus steel

of these 949 included: pattern welded

I'll get back to you after of looked at them all(or as soon as my last batch
of AFIction coated steel drys)....don't hold your breath
