[TheForge] more than you ever wanted to know about hot vs cold rolled

Grant,
What is the uniformity and "junkiness" of 1018? By junkiness, I mean
unwanted inclusions. I had thought to make a Crossbow prod out of 1018 and
superquench it, but was afraid the amount of slag and other impurities would
defeat the purpose of using low carbon, which was to extend bow life. Fewer
Carbon atoms means less interstitial point defects to pin edge slip
dislocations which means work hardening SHOULD happen and a much slower
rate. Comments or thoughts?
