[TheForge] Blacksmith Guilds possibly no more

For some reason I have always seen my memberships in UMBA and ABANA as
coincidental and separate. If I had to choose only one , it would be UMBA. These
are the folks I associate with.
Any advantage I have received from ABANA , the mags and theforge list itself,
have come to me personally.

I think it is a shame ABANA has removed our southern chapters from enrollment.
But then maybe that is just the point. They are not OUR southern chapters. As the
individual members, who care to, still retain their ABANA memberships, there does
not seem to be much of a practical change for them.

Some folks, perhaps myself included have way too much time on their hands. FABA
et al will prosper just fine without ABANA enrollment. ABANA will do just fine as
long as its individual members pay the dues.

None of this will make any of us better or worse at the craft.
