I cut the opening in the hood down to the bottom doubling the size of the opening. It works well now thanks again for all the advice. I think I can skip the smoke shelf. I do want to cut the sides of the forge down so I can get the hood down that last 2" then I can hopefully move it back a few inches. This hood now draws aa lot better than the old one. John Newman
