Actually the polarity of the leads in the Ohmmeter of a Simpson 260
is dependent on the position of the DC Voltmeter polarity switch.
This is not the case of Triplet meters, which is the only reason
Simpson 260's became so
popular. Once the crocodile clips are attached to a diode (including
the stud mounted
kinds) you test forward es reverse by rotating the polarity knob back es
forth es back.
Very handy if you have 25 or 50 diodes in string assemblies to test for
open es shorted
diodes.
