[Test-Equipment] Does it really make a difference over the short haul ????

Doug,

I don't consider myself an expert but I have been using a video patch 
panel for RF for decades.  I use it for connecting my HF and VHF rigs to 
various antennas.  I have not had any problems nor experienced SWR 
problems ever.  I got the video barrel connectors from telephone company 
surplus.  They are hard wired and do not have BNC connectors.  I used 
them with 100 watt exciters and not the amps.  I read somewhere that as 
long as the impedence bump is only a few percent of a wavelength, it 
will have negligible effect.  Consider that coaxial switches like Heath 
and B&W do the same thing.
