Subject: [Test-Equipment] Eico 950 capacity bridge Operating Instructions

This is going back many years, but maybe there are a few "Old Timers" on
this list to ask.

I obtained at a hamfest, an old Eico 950B cap bridge which is in
excellent appearance and apparently good condition. I reformed the
capacitors and it seems to be working. I also have the schematic as
well as the original kit building instructions.

However, there are no operating or user instructions with it, beyond
just checking the bridge with a precision 200k resistor.

I've been told this bridge is superior to today's low voltage capacitor
checkers for testing older higher voltage capacitors, because it checks
them closer to their operating voltages. But I only read about 45 volts
across the test points and that doesn't change when varying the front
panel voltage control.

FYI: I also have later more modern testers such as Antek Blue ESR
tester; a Sencore Z Meter and a Tektronix DMM916 for capacity checks.

Is there anyone that has used the Eico 950B tester extensively in the
past or present, that can clue me in on the best ways to check NOS HV
electrolytic caps with it? Or, is there an operating manual available?
I have checked BAMA for one, no luck.

Your attention is appreciated.
Ray, W4BYG (with a bunch of tubed classics and antiques to refurbish)
