Bill,
Not sure why you would want to change the lamp/socket because #81 lamps are
available from several places (Google "#81 lamp").
#81 specs: 6.5v, 1.02A.
You could use ANY lamp that has a current rating of at least 1 amp.
My TV7 tube tester has one that that has been working for 50+ years!

I just started working on a Hickok 8000A and need the information on a
replacement for the #81 fuse bulb. I'm thinking there is a suitable
replacement but may have to change the socket.
