[Test-Equipment] Need recommendations for an HC-6 & FT-243 tester

    If you just want to see if a crystal works try a grid dip oscillator 
like the Millen. You need to make an adapter plug for the coil socket to 
alligator clips. The tuning capacitor will vary the frequency and output 
and give some idea of the correct capacitance load. Frequency can be 
read with a counter coupled with a small loop.
     Not all GDOs work, for instance, the AN/PRM-10 has some of its 
circuit in the coils so won't work with them removed.
