Hello all, I have a nice 8753D 6GHz model with options 000/006/010/011. Option 000 is a faster CPU. Passes ALL BITE tests.
With this, comes an 85047A s-parameter test set. Now-this 85047A has a doubler in it. It is usually paired with a 3 GHz model such as the 8753C. So in theory you could sell the 85047A and purchase an 85046A and have some money left over. The '046A is all that is needed for this setup. The '047A goes for more money because of the doubler.
The '047A is a mechanical relay switched test set. HOWEVER if you call before midnight tonight I will throw in the solid state relay which I have and never installed. Should be dirt simple to do. This allows you to do very fast and repetitive measurements without worry. That was a joke, no need to call before midnight!
In addition, the set comes with an DB25 interconnect cable (not original but works FB) and the 4 N-N cables to connect the VNA to the test set.
The set up also includes an original manual "System Verification and Performance Test Guide" for "HP 8753D Option 011"
But wait! There's more! This one has a USB drive instead of a floppy. It works, but not 1000%. If you load a file onto a USB stick from your PC and move it to the VNA, you need to refresh the USB drive with a button on the front. File transfer works both directions (Read and write) but it just doesn't recognize any changes to the USB stick when it is re-inserted. I think the VNA caches the directory of the usb stick and doesn't refresh it when it is inserted. But a simple button press (IIRC) is all it takes to refresh the cache. Very convenient for transferring files between a PC and the VNA). If you want to replace the floppy, it is very easy. A few screws and your done. These are available on ebay frequently (but I don't have one).
I am asking $3500 for the whole setup or $3,000 for the VNA and $1000 for the test set if sold separately. For pick up at Dayton Hamvention only please. Shipping is too risky. I think this is a pretty darn good deal. The unit works FB but I cannot vouche for its state of accuracy or calibration.
Pitures? Well, I spent the better part of today searching for a WHOLE MESS of pictures I took before I put it into storage. But now, of course, I can't find any of them which has me off-my-rocker with frustration. But I can tell you, it looks nice. Test set is damn nice. Test set has feet and gray rack handles (no rack ears) and the VNA has no rack handles but feet.
Let me know if your interested. Cash at Dayton would be best, otherwise I can take paypal and you eat the fees. Only because I think this is a good enough deal.
