I have a 42BD that I wanted to add the autorange board to.
I found a 92BD less probe at a good price that has the aurorange board in it.
I cleaned up my 42BD and installed the autorange board and all is good.
I noticed that the 92BD did not have a chopper and had a different
board in the chopper driver position.
From this I guess that, in the later pieces, Boonton replaced the
mechanical chopper with an electronic chopper.
Does anyone have a 92BD or a 42BD book that can confirm this?
All of the books that I have found online have the mechanical chopper.
If this electronic chopper board will work in a 42BD that has a
mechanical chopper, I would like to upgrade my 42BD to the electronic chopper.
There is an article available about replacing the chopper driver with
a home built board to replace the mechanical chopper.
Any help appreciated.
