With respect to the pots, I'd leave well enough alone. If you are careful
with the chips, you can drill a sealed pot and introduce alcohol with a
syringe.
Manuals are readily available. VintageManuals.com (formerly W7FG) sells
paper versions. You can download a first quality pdf scan from
artekmanuals.com for $5.
The only problem I ever had with my 331A was a tendency of the tantalum
decoupling caps to short out.
