Update:
In pursuing Tom's suggestion and doing a physical inspection, I found the
crispy critter. It's on that board directly behind the front panel, the
one that looks nearly impossible to remove. The only reason I found it is
because it "right" up at the top edge where I can see the scorched board
and carbonized plastic. There isn't enough room to get my iron in there.
:(
Now I think I will just have to study how this tank is actually put
together and start removing screws. This thing *might* come out the front.
