Hello Carl,
~ My experience with "service grade" sweeper/SG is about nil as Ive either
had access to lab grade at work or built my own collection of now affordable
gear mostly since retiring 12 years ago.
Hickok gear seems to be at the top end of "service grade" equipment. It has
just taken me a while to realize that they put out more than their famous
tube testers.
~ I don't know how it is up in the boonies where you live, but down south is
a goldmine of belly up auctions should you want to upgrade. Out here is
similar.
The Bay Area is awash in HP and Tektronix and similar gear, but that is a
major trip for me in terms of money and energy expended. So, I'll do what I
can with what I can get on the internet, and pay the freight to get it here.
Also, I'm quite ignorant about what to buy and what not to buy. I usually
don't even know what I'm looking at! A lot of electronic water has passed
under the bridge in the 50 years that I've been pursuing the artsy-craftsy
life. I'm certainly enjoying my re-entry, and it's helpful guys like
yourself that make it enjoyable (:->)...
Cheers,
Brian
