[Test-Equipment] AIL-460 Sig Gen Last Update?

Well you may all recall that I was starting on my merry way replacing a
shorted tantalum capacitor in my 460 signal generator. As it happened...as
I replaced one, another (same type) cap failed, on down the line until all
those particular caps on that board failed and were replaced. After I did
the last one...there were no more on that board to fail so I was wondering
which board was going to go up it smoke next...literally.

Surprise surprise nothing did..the power held, no smoke and it stayed
powered up. Good news there.

Bad news...no output. I can vary the frequency...set the attenuator...etc
but no indication on the output meter. No indication of the PLL unlocking
either. And just to be sure, I listened on a receiver to a frequency it
was set at...nothing.

So at this point I've gone as far as I think I can go without any real
documentation. I don't even know which card does what in the thing...to
troubleshoot an RF and/or attenuator problem without good docs is probably
too big a lift for my skill set.

But before I decide its ultimate fate..I thought I give one more try..maybe
a setup issue? I'm sure there are intermediate frequencies in there that
are mixed around to get an output, but without knowing the mixing scheme I
don't know where to listen.

         Ideas?

           Thanks...Dennis
