To all that replied - tks lots, This is for a project for friend who is not group member. Yesterday,
over a few beers down at the VFW, we discussed the possibility (probably a space problem)
of just putting an acorn tube in the unit, like a 955 etc. He's gonna check out the space problem.
Again, tks

GM all - in a bit of a bind here. Working on an old GDO and the output fades out in the
upper reaches of VHF. ?Tested the 9002 and its soft. Unable to find replacements
in this rural area of northern Florida.
? ? ?Big question -- is there another tube (hopefully generally available) that either
substitutes for the 9002 or will work a well.
Tks & 73

I am afraid I must tell you that there is no replacement, save an
acorn tube (wrong socket) as far as I know.
The 9002 is a (tiny) acorn tube transplanted into a 7 pin envelope.
There are two or three tube sellers in Orlando, I am sure one can get
you one in a few days.

If you cant find a tube you could probably substitute a FET with suitable reduction in HT voltage.

Depend upon how the circuit is wired, you may be able to use a 6af4. Done it 30 years ago.
You can find 9002s on eBay.
