Hi Bob

A belated Happy New Year too to you, and to all other list members.

Apologies for the delayed reply, I gave up on using the web based version
of AOL whilst away and have been having power problems due to bad weather
since returning.

Enabling the remote option will switch control from the front panel
switches to the remote inputs, removing the 5 volt supply from the switches and
enabling the interface latches in the remote module, which isn't going to
achieve what you want.

I still believe a switched buffer after the output of the PTS040 would be
the most straightforward method of keying or switching it.

regards

Nigel

I've been going over the few pages (33) in my PTS040 manual.
Soon I'll have it memorized :-)
Pin 22 control might get me down to +3dBm at 50ohms.
The signal at that level will still be audible in the receiver.
The manual briefly mentions grounding Pin 42 will enable remote
programming.
It would be easy to see if this disables the output.
My worry is there might be some future consequence by rapidly keying this
line.
Any opinion?
Happy New Year!
