[Test-Equipment] Opinions on HP-853A / HP-8557A Spectrum Analyzer

I may have an opportunity to acquire an HP-853A Spectrum Analyzer with an
HP-8557A plug-in ($400).

This will be my first real run at a spectrum analyzer for the shack, and I
am hopeful someone can provide some insight on this unit.

I don't have a specific application in mind other than perhaps 1) checking
IF passband response, mostly around 455 KHz, and 2) checking for spurious
radiation from electronic devices around 145 Mhz with accurate dbm readings.

Here is my question:  Is this a good unit for my application?  Merits /
flaws of the 853A?  Market value?

I checked out the last five years of posts on the archives before asking
here and saw nothing .... so forgive me if this has been previously covered
(where?).
