I don't have a 540, but the trick will probably be finding test data. 
The 540 was introduced in 1943 IIRC), and the 6146 in 1952, so you 
would need a fairly late 540 roll chart to find the 6146 listed. My 
533, although introduced in 1947 (IIRC), has roll charts from the 
late '50s and early '60s listing the 6146. Data from a 560 would 
probably work - I believe it was the same as the 540 with some added 
sockets. It has, however, been decades since I last used a 540.
