Texas Instruments makes a 1.25 voltage reference .
Mouser part number 595-ref3312AIDBZT
The catalog says VI,which I take to mean input voltage Is 1.8/7.5,although
in the data sheet it says max voltage is 5.5.
So it`ll run on a couple of AA or AA batts for a long time as the output
current is rated at a max of 5 Ma!.
This would be ideal for an instrument test as the output current prob would
NOT screw up a meter if you happened to,(like me ,ocassionaly), try to test
a voltage in the ohms position,as the current is prob not enough to hurt the
meter!
(geez I said so much good things about this chip I think Ill get
one!HI,HI!.)
