   I have also searched for such NEC information for years, all that I have ever found is the pin 
out in (instruction) books for Japanese equipment such as Sony tape recorders, they are on pages in 
the front or the rear of the books in the devices or semiconductor pages.  Additionally you can see 
examples of their use in the schematics of the equipment.
