Recently I tried to buy a smart probe, about the
size of a very fat writing pen. The vendor wanted $60
to ship it, with no other shipping options available
(direct purchase, not eBay).

I know I could ship it at the post office for about $5.
So I cancelled the purchase. I expect to play reasonable
shipping and handling; but resent it when it becomes
a profit centre. 

Of course, we've all been scammed with shipping and handling
charges at eBuy.
