Hi Bob

It sound like you might just have the System Section of the manual, that
usually runs to around 30 pages and is model specific.
It generally contains block diagrams with chassis layouts and schematics
for the PSU section.

The full manuals include more detailed chapters for the various internal
modules, with schematics and parts lists.
The good news is that some at least of those modules tend to be common to
different models so downloading the PTS160 manual, for example, should
provide additional useful information.

Coming back to your query about keying/switching the oscillator output, I
was hoping to be able to refer you to an appropriate interface on the
remote control section, which should be detailed in your section of the manual,
but now see I may have been over optimistic.

There is an option for remote level control, which presumably also applies
also to the PTS040, on pin 22 of the BCD remote control interface, and I
was thinking that grounding this might reduce the output to zero, but
looking at the schematic for the OA output section in the PTS160 manual suspect
this would not be the case, and that some experimentation would be necessary.

In practice it would probably be more straightforward just to build an
interface buffer and key that, which would have the additional advantage that
it would also be available for other signals sources if you wanted to
experiment.

regards

Nigel

I do have a complete 33 page user manual.
The few schematics are certainly not at the component level.
With the exception of the power supplies, the modules are just blank
p/n rectangles showing the interconnecting node lines.
