Further to my last, I forgot to mention the conditions of the vertical
input.  The calibrator should be set to 1V peak-to-peak,
and the vertical sensitivity at 0.5V per division,
to match the conditions of the Tek 310A schematic.
I presume use of direct probes, not divide by 10.

The measurement point specified is roughly midway 
between the shaped trigger pickoff signal 
from the vertical amplifier circuits
and the input to the triggered sweep, so we can see 
if the triggering signal is not getting to the sweep.
