[Test-Equipment] OT: Simple labels?

how many characters, size of label etc ?
When use to have my New Hermes engraver (someday will have one again)
making those three layer plastic labels was easy and cheap. You can still
get them made, price varies a lot.
no as to local resources .. most inks will fade in UV, Laser toner
(i..e plastic)
does not like the heat, but if out of the sun you can laminate.
